Ukiah police are sounding the alarm about a suspicious letter showing up in local mailboxes. The letter, sent by a group calling itself the “National Police Association,” asks residents to check a support box and send money for what it describes as a policing initiative tied to the Ukiah City Council. UPD says it has absolutely no connection to the organization and warns the mailer could be a scam. Officers are encouraging residents not to send donations or personal information if they receive the letter. A copy of the mailer is posted on the Ukiah Police Department Facebook page so residents know what to look for.
