A long-planned gas station in Redwood Valley will be up for discussion at the next meeting of the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors. Supervisor Madeline Cline, posting on Facebook, says county staff has recommended approval of the project for the Fiazen Gas station on Highway 101 after the developers agreed to accept the required traffic mitigation measures, which include the highway median closure and construction of turn lanes. The applicant has also revised the application to add more parking and move the canopies outside of the existing easement areas. The County approved that project in 2016, but the owner did not start construction before the permit expired in 2018. The owner tried again in 2021 but was denied a variance by the planning commission. The project will come up at the supervisor meeting on May 19th.
