The Lake County Sheriff’s Office continues to look for a man suspected of a series of burglaries in North Lakeport who has twice been released after similar cases. In a social media post, the department says Matthew Wratislaw was released on his own recognizance earlier this week after an April 26th incident that resulted in a shelter-in-place order in the Lakeport Area. THAT incident happened while Wraitslaw was out after he was charged with another break-in in March. The sheriff’s office says both releases were allowed under a new California law that impacted booking and release decisions for certain offenses, including some non-violent felony and misdemeanor charges. The department says it understands the concerns about the cases and is urging anyone who sees anything suspicious to call it in.
