Deadly mushroom poisonings are surging across California at levels health experts say they’ve never seen before. Most of the poisonings are linked to dangerous death cap mushrooms spreading through Northern California and coastal areas. Researchers say one unusual part of this outbreak is that some cases are happening outside the normal mushroom growing season.
