A new poll about the race to succeed Newsom suggests the contest is getting tighter–and more defined– as Election Day gets closer. A poll from Emerson College says it’s coming down to a three-man contest. Democrat Xavier Becerra continues his recent surge, narrowly leading republican Steve Hilton and fellow democrat Tom Steyer. The top two in the June primary move on to November. Experts say the poll shows Democrats have begun to come together around Becerra and Steyer, while Republicans are moving toward Hilton. Early voting is now underway
