Beaches in Mendocino County are becoming more accessible thanks to new equipment. Officials say MendoParks received a $30,000 grant to purchase portable track systems designed for people with mobility challenges. The system creates a pathway across the sand, making it easier for wheelchairs to reach the shoreline. Leaders say the goal is to open up more outdoor opportunities and events to everyone. The equipment will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
