The Lake County Board of Supervisors has received an update on a major hydrologic study focused on the Big Valley area in the Clearlake watershed. O’Connor Consulting is using advanced modeling to track how water use and climate change affect stream flows. The ultimate goal is to save the Clearlake Hitch by improving their spawning habitats. Researchers expect to have a clearer picture of how to balance water management with environmental protection by this time next year.
