A longtime research site in Mendocino County is hitting a big milestone this year. The Hopland Research and Extension Center is celebrating 75 years of work studying everything from agriculture to wildlife and even Lyme disease. Over the years, it’s helped produce thousands of studies that have shaped how land is managed far beyond the North Coast. It’s also become a hands-on learning spot for students and the community. There’s an open house coming up later this month if you want to check it out in person.
