Health officials in California are sounding the alarm over a growing number of dangerous wild mushroom poisonings. Most cases have happened in Northern California, but poison control experts say the problem is now showing up in the Central Valley as well. Three more people were hospitalized last weekend after eating wild mushrooms, and since November, nearly 50 people have ended up in the hospital while four others have died. Officials say the safest rule is simple: if a mushroom didn’t come from a store, don’t eat it.
