A big milestone for a major trail project was celebrated earlier this week in Ukiah. Community leaders cut the ribbon on a new 3-mile section of the Great Redwood Trail, which is eventually expected to stretch hundreds of miles across Northern California. They say it’s more than just a walking and biking path, it’s about connecting communities and bringing in economic growth. The project also just landed $50 million in funding to keep it moving forward. When it’s finished, it’ll be one of the largest rail-to-trail systems in the country.
