The Lake County Sheriff’s Activities League is teaming up with local pros for a day of hooks, lines, and sinkers. They are partnering with the Clearlake Bassmasters to host a free youth fishing clinic on Saturday, May 16th. The event is open to students between the ages of 6 and 18, though organizers note that 18-year-olds must still be enrolled in high school to participate. The morning kicks off at 9:00 a.m. at Library Park in Lakeport. Bassmaster volunteers will first lead a hands-on workshop covering essential fishing skills and techniques. Students will then head to the pier for supervised fishing. All equipment—including life vests and bait—is provided. To top it off, the day ends with a hot dog feed for all the participants. Any student between 16 and 18 years old is required by law to have a valid fishing license. If you want to get on the list, don’t wait. The contact info is on our website. ((You may sign up your child by contacting and speaking directly to LCSAL Board Member Terry Norton at 707- 349-4432.))
