Mendocino County is getting ahead of a big change coming to downtown Ukiah. Leaders have formed a committee to figure out what to do with the current courthouse once it’s empty. Two supervisors will take the lead, looking at how the county can help guide what comes next. The new courthouse is set to open in 2027, which will leave that space up for grabs. With other projects like student housing also in the works, there’s a lot riding on what happens next downtown.
