Clearlake leaders are taking a closer look at traffic safety tonight with a major roundabout project and a broader push to reduce serious crashes across the city. Council members will vote on a nearly $2.7 million construction contract for the Dam Road Roundabout, a project designed to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety. City officials say speeding, distracted driving, and aging roads continue causing problems throughout Clearlake. The council will also discuss adopting the “Vision Zero” traffic safety plan during its 6pm meeting Thursday, May 21 at City Hall.
