There are no clear frontrunners in the California governor race after last night’s debate near Los Angeles. Eight candidates faced off at the debate at Pomona College in Claremont, including the three leading Democrats, former Congresswoman Katie Porter, billionaire Tom Steyer and former California Attorney General Xavier Becerra. A poll before the debate showed Steyer leading the Democrats and running neck-and-neck with Trump-supported Republican candidate Steve Hilton. The former frontrunner, Congressman Eric Swalwell, dropped out of the race and out of Congress after being accused of sexual misconduct by several women.
