A search is currently underway for a 40-year-old man who dramatically escaped custody in Lake County. Police say Matthew Wratislaw was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly breaking into a home in the 4000 block of Lakeshore Boulevard. Homeowners returned to find a shattered sliding glass door and Wratislaw inside. Following a physical struggle with deputies, he was taken into custody, but while being transported to the hospital for evaluation, Wratislaw reportedly jumped out of a moving ambulance near Hill Road. He was last seen wearing a green hooded jacket and red plaid flannel. Deputies say he is not considered a danger to the public, but they are asking residents to stay vigilant.
