A new effort is underway to protect one of Northern California’s most iconic aerial hunters. A new community-driven research project is looking for “citizen scientists” to help track Ospreys you may see around Clear Lake. The Northern California Osprey Collective is looking for locals to locate new nests in the community and assist with monitoring throughout the breeding season. The goal is to fill critical “knowledge gaps” in regional raptor research and ensure these birds continue their comeback story. The Redbud Audubon Society is hosting a special virtual presentation explaining the projects on Zoom on April 23rd at 7:00. Redbudaudubon.org has more.
