The State Bar of California claims three attorneys submitted AI-generated court fillings. Those filings allegedly cited nonexistent and irrelevant legal decisions. All three attorneys are now facing disciplinary charges. One of them is based in Los Angeles and another is based in Beverly Hills. The third attorney is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Attorneys working in California are allowed to use AI to draft legal documents, but must independently verify all information included in court filings.
