Lake County is getting some new funding to help tackle homelessness and support people at risk of losing housing. The state announced Wednesday that about $1.4 million is coming to the area through a program focused on prevention and long-term solutions. Officials say that money will help keep a shelter in Lakeport running, while also helping people with rent, move-in costs, and support services. The goal is to keep more people off the streets and help others stay in stable housing.
