Fort Bragg city leaders have approved a new fee waiver program to help reduce startup costs for small businesses. Eligible independently owned businesses with 10 or fewer employees could receive up to about $3,000 in waived city permitting and administrative fees during their first year. Officials say the program is intended to encourage new business development while keeping existing safety and zoning requirements in place. Applications for the program are expected to open later this summer.
