New figures show a drop in the unemployment rate in Mendocino County. The state puts it at 5.9% in March, down from a revised 6.3% in February. The rate in March 2025 was 6.3%.

The county added jobs in construction, manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, and state and federal government. Fewer jobs were available in retail, mining and logging, and trade, transportation, and utilities. In Lake County, the rate also went down to 7.4% in March, down from a revised 7.9% in February. The rate in March 2025 was 7.5%. The county added jobs in trade, transportation, warehousing, and utilities; private education and health services; leisure and hospitality; retail; and local government.
