Another gray whale death is adding to concerns along the West Coast. This one, a young female, was found on a Mendocino County beach near Virgin Creek yesterday morning. The Noyo Center for Marine Science says more whales are showing up underweight, and it’s becoming a pattern. Researchers think changes in Arctic feeding areas may be leaving these animals without enough energy for the long migration.
