April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and you can expect to see more enforcement on the roads. The California Highway Patrol along with local Lake and Mendocino County agencies say they’ll be cracking down on drivers using their phones. They’re reminding drivers it’s not just phones, messing with the screen, the radio, or even food can take your attention off the road. With 158 deaths tied to distracted driving in 2023, officials say the message is simple, put it down and focus on driving.
