A decision today in Mendocino County could change the way illegal cannabis grows are handled. Supervisors are set to vote on a $4.5 million grant that would finally give the sheriff’s office the staffing it says it’s been missing. Right now, enforcement only happens when bigger crimes force the issue. If approved, the funding would add dedicated personnel and tools to go after illegal operations long term. The vote happens this morning in Ukiah.
