More water tanks have been installed for residents in the area of the major sewage spill in Clearlake. The incident command team handling the aftermath of the spill says 32 tanks are now in place to provide water to those whose wells were tainted by the spill. The Lake County News reports the latest figure shows 164 properties were affected by the spill when almost 3 million gallons of sewage spewed froma ruptured 16-inch main near Robin Lane on January 11th. Testing continues on wells in the 550-acre spill zone. 65 have been called–sanitized–but the county isn’t saying if any are safe yet to use. A fourth community meeting about the spill is coming up tonight at 6 at City Hall. A hydrologist is expected to be there to discuss the long term impact on the water supply around the spill.
