A new candidate has entered the race for Mendocino County’s District 3 supervisor seat. Willits resident Buffey Wright Bourassa says she plans to run after longtime supervisor John Haschak announced he will not seek re-election. Bourassa, a member of the Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians, says her work in restorative justice has shaped her focus on addiction recovery, environmental issues, and community-based solutions. She’ll face competition from fellow Willits residents Eric Hart and Clay Romero in the June primary election.
