A major donation to the Mendocino Land Trust. The trust says proceeds of a land sale by Dr. Gabrielle Levine will go to its Albion River Fund and will be used primarily for the conservation and restoration of habitats along the Albion River watershed. Dr Levine has been a long-time supporter of the trust and its protection of the Albion River. The donated land is an undeveloped 20-acre parcel, located on the east side of Highway 1 in Albion, and features meadows, wooded terrain, and ocean views from its elevated areas. The land is now listed for sale. Officials say the Albion Fund focuses on work in the River watershed, including land conservation, habitat restoration, public access projects, and acquisition of conservation easements.
