Several complaints about young kids on electric scooters or bikes have been made to police in Ukiah. The reports say they’re not riding them safely, at high speeds and the kids are doing things like riding in the dark and blowing thru stop signs. Police say there were also reports the children may have been to blame for traffic crashes. Police are asking parents and guardians to have their kids follow the law. It’s illegal to use an electric scooter on a public roadway without a valid driver’s license or instruction permit, same for E-bikes.
