Police are urging drivers to be careful on the roads with the wet weather. Several crashes were reported Monday, especially in the Willits area, with the rain coating the dry asphalt, making for slick conditions. The rain could last into tomorrow, but the weekend looks dry.

Mendocino College is joining with a nationwide project to help people with criminal records clear their names. The joint effort involves the Clean Slate Project, and the school says it is a way for people with a criminal record to start the process of expunging their convictions. The college is hosting a free clinic next month to provide what the officials call a second chance to rebuild their future. Jimmy Balion is the Restorative Justice Program Manager. He says expungement offers students and community members to take the first step in what can be a daunting process. He suggests registering early because he expects the limited appointments to fill up early. There is more information on the Mendocino College website.
