Police say a man found in an overturned car in Humboldt County has been identified as an 84-year-old from Whitehorn who was reported missing last month. Authorities had been looking for David Taylor since he was last seen at the Whitehorn Post Office on February 5th. His body–found earlier this week in Bricelend, inside a car found on the side of the road, flipped over. An autopsy shows he died of injuries within minutes of the crash. The Mendocino County Sheriff’s office says the investigation is continuing.

Chalk up another reported stolen vehicle caught by the Ukiah’s license plate readers. Police say they got a hit about a car taken in Santa Rosa Wednesday evening–and were able to find the car–and the person driving it on east Perkins street. Police say they’ve charged Alexander Barger of Ukiah with driving a stolen vehicle, committing a felony while out on bail and DUI.

Hikers will get a chance to enjoy the trails at the Ridgewood Ranch with three upcoming treks into the woods. The hikes are planned for April 5th, 12th, and 19th, with a chance to explore the wildlife and plant life through the Redwoods to the Walker Lake Boundary. A federal judge has ruled in favor of California’s age-based restrictions on gun sales. The case challenged the state law, which prohibits licensed firearms dealers from selling, supplying, delivering, or giving possession or control of handguns or semiautomatic centerfire rifles to 18- to 20-year-olds. Attorney General Rob Bonta–who was named in the lawsuit–says it is a victory for gun control. Gun rights advocates disagree. They call the decision and say it goes against the Second Amendment
