The Lake County Planning Commission will consider several items at its first meeting of the year later this week. Among them, is a request from AT&T to put up an 80-foot tower on Hill Road in Lakeport. The company says it would help service in the area. The single tower would be designed to look like a pine tree. It would include about 15 antennas, radios, and other associated equipment. If approved, work would start later this year and take a little over three months to finish. City staff says the tower will be low maintenance, with just a couple of routine visits a year. Thursday’s meeting starts at 9:00 AM Thursday at the council chambers.
Clearlake is buying four properties that they got through back taxes. The city says the land will help sewer connections and the overall sewer system, Lake Co News.com reports the city council has approved the purchase of 2 lots on Highlands Way and two on Vallejo Avenue and that lots on Highland Way had seen a lot of dumping and encampments. Now they will be fenced. The Special district board approved the sale late last year. The total price for the four lots was $10,000. Neighbors say they’re happy the properties will be put to good public use, rather than stay vacant.
