The City of Willits is looking for input on mobile vending as it is considering new regulations. The city says it hopes to write fair and effective policies that support vendors and keep public spaces vibrant. They’ve developed an online survey to get opinions. As Lake County updates its general plan for the next 25 years officials are hosting a focus group to get opinions about how agriculture fits into the county’s future. They hope the meeting on November 21st will bring together members of the agriculture community, including farmers, landowners, and farm workers to find out what they think is important. The county says Agriculture has been a critical part of its history and will continue to play a major role in the future, The meeting next Thursday will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the County Courthouse.

If you’re interested in getting involved in local government in Lakeport, you have more time to apply for a spot on a city board or commission. There are several openings–on the Measure Z Advisory Committee, the Planning Commission, and the Lakeport Economic Development Advisory Committee. The positions start January 1st and the applications are due Tuesday afternoon at 5:30. The city has more about what those groups do–and how to apply–on its website.

A man found dead at a power plant in Humboldt County was likely electrocuted. That’s the conclusion of investigators looking into the case after a decomposing body was discovered on November 2nd in the town of Mad River. The coroner’s office continues to look into what happened and has to make an ID public.

It could soon be harder to find big motorhomes and RVs in California The state Air Resources Board voted last month that manufacturers of vehicles over 8,500 points must gradually sell more zero-emission vehicles, and at least two big manufacturers have notified dealers that they’ll stop shipping new models to the state because the new Zero-emission target is too strict, given current technology. The board says it isn’t a ban on RV sales but that the state has to move quickly away from gasoline engines to meet its goal of phasing them out by 2035. Lobbyists for the RV industry are working to carve out an exemption. They say unless there’s a compromise, Motorhomes and RV’s could disappear from lots next year.
