The race for mayor in Mendocino has officially gone to the dogs. Bodhi, a 120-pound Alaskan Malamute, won the honorary mayor’s race after a community fundraiser for the Mendocino Dog Park raised more than 2,500 dollars, with every dollar counting as a vote. The campaign helps pay for upkeep at the popular dog park and wrapped up with Bodhi also taking home the Best Float award in the town’s Fourth of July parade. Organizers say Bodhi will soon introduce his “administration” during a press conference at the dog park.
