What began as an overdose call in Boonville ended with an injured deputy and an arrest. The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Jack Hayward was revived with Narcan after being found unresponsive from a suspected fentanyl overdose early Friday. Investigators say Hayward later became aggressive, ran from medical crews, and then fled again when deputies tried to detain him on Highway 128. He was eventually taken into custody and now faces multiple charges.
