California Attorney General Rob Bonta says immigration detention centers need stronger oversight after a new report uncovered serious concerns at facilities including Adelanto. Investigators found issues involving delayed medical care, pepper spray use indoors, and shortages of food and clean water. The report also points to four deaths at the Adelanto center. Bonta says he’s prepared to support new laws aimed at improving conditions inside ICE detention facilities.
