The new Mendocino County courthouse in Ukiah is steadily taking shape, with officials saying construction remains on track for a summer 2027 opening. Crews expect the exterior of the three-story building on Perkins Street to be finished by the end of this year before landscaping and interior work ramps up next year. The courthouse will include shaded solar parking, Native-themed displays, and even saplings grown from the famous magnolia trees outside the current courthouse. Court officials are also inviting the public to take part in a photography contest, with winning photos set to hang inside the new building.
