Lake County is joining communities across the country in recognizing National Police Week. The Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation Tuesday honoring officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and thanking the men and women still serving today. National Police Week was first established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy to recognize law enforcement sacrifice and service nationwide. Locally, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the public to a First Responder Memorial Ceremony Friday, May 15th at 5:30pm at Museum Park in Lakeport.
