The California Department of Public Health now says they’re monitoring four people from the state who were exposed to the hantavirus. That’s double the number previously disclosed. In an update Monday afternoon, the CDPH revealed that two were among the group of Americans who went from the cruise ship to the U.S. this past weekend, and have been taken to a secure medical facility in Nebraska. Two others are back in California being monitored; one who was on the ship, and one who was on a plane near a cruise passenger who was later confirmed to have the Andes hantavirus. Neither of the two who are back in the state have shown any symptoms.
