Temperatures well above 100 will likely be in much of central and southern California through the weekend, and the risk of fires there is increasing. It’s been a hot spring so far. It was the hottest March on record for California, as well as nine other states, and the long-range forecast says the rest of May will likely be hotter than usual, too.
