Artificial intelligence became a major talking point during this week’s debate between the two candidates running for Lake County Superintendent of Schools. Challenger Airic Guerrero said schools need to embrace AI as a tool to help students close achievement gaps, while incumbent Brock Falkenberg focused on teacher training, classroom support and long-term student success. The two also discussed teacher shortages, school funding and how to improve struggling student performance across the county. Voters will decide the race in the June 2nd election.
