A California connection to the cruise ship stricken by a deadly hantavirus outbreak. The California Department of Health says at least one of the people that was on the cruise ship is from California, and they’re back home in the state. State health officials say they were notified by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that an unspecified number of California residents were onboard the ship that had passengers infected with hantavirus, that they’re monitoring returning travelers, and as far as they know no one in California is infected.
