Frustration over repeated sewage spills could push Clearlake leaders toward major action against the county sanitation district. During tonight’s 6pm city council meeting, officials will discuss everything from independent environmental testing to possible legal complaints and changes in who controls the Southeast sewer system. City staff say more than 2.8 million gallons of sewage have spilled from the system since 2007, with the worst problems happening in recent years. Officials also say attempts to work with the county on long-term fixes have gone nowhere.
