A new wildfire prevention effort is taking shape in Mendocino County, focused on keeping key evacuation routes clear. The Mendocino County Fire Safe Council is working with a neighborhood group along Tomki Road to clear brush and reduce fire خطر. The work comes nearly a decade after the Redwood Complex fire, when the road served as a critical escape route for residents . Crews and volunteers are removing vegetation and improving access to help prevent future fire dangers. Officials say the goal is to protect homes and make evacuations safer if another wildfire hits.
