What started as a routine traffic stop in Clearlake quickly turned into a homicide investigation. The California Highway Patrol says an officer noticed blood inside an SUV during the stop Sunday morning, leading to the discovery of a body in the back seat. The person was pronounced dead at the scene, and detectives were called in to take over the case. Authorities say they’ve identified everyone involved and don’t believe there’s any ongoing danger to the public. Investigators are still working to piece together exactly what happened.
