Major changes for riders of the Mendocino Transit Authority who want to get to the Bay Area. Mendocino Transit says says riders will begin transfer to the SMART train in Santa Rosa starting April 12th, which will now serve as the primary connection point into the Bay Area. In Marin, riders can access Golden Gate Transit and other regional and national transportation. Officials say the SMART service will be increased out of Windsor as part of its Marin-Sonoma Coordinated Transit Service, a collaborative effort among regional transit and funding agencies to improve how public transportation works in the Highway 101 corridor.
