
A Sacramento judge is keeping a gubernatorial candidate off the June primary ballot. The court sided with the California Secretary of State, saying Rudolph “Butch” Ware didn’t properly file his tax returns in time to qualify. Ware pushed back, arguing the rules are unconstitutional and that he fixed the issues, but the judge wasn’t convinced. Now, Ware says he’s not backing down and plans to appeal while also taking the fight to federal court with a separate lawsuit.
