Two people are dead after their car crashed and caught fire during a police chase early Tuesday at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield. Napa County Sheriff’s deputies say they had stopped the car just after midnight on Highway 12 in Napa. It’s not clear why they were pulled over. The suspects then led deputies on a chase. The car eventually crashed at the base in the visitor parking lot. Deputies tried to put out the fire but both people in the car died at the scene. Police are still investigating.
