A missing woman is safe thanks to a passing tour group. Officials say the 71-year-old Upper Lake woman is recovering after spending three days lost in the Jackson Demonstration State Forest. Her SUV was spotted last Tuesday near a waterfall trail, sparking a massive search. The rescue finally came when staff on a Skunk Train railbike—traveling through a remote area closed to the public—stumbled upon her. Despite going days without food or water, authorities say she was in good spirits and did not require emergency medical care. Officials say if the tour hadn’t been running that day, the outcome could have been much different.
