State funding changes are starting to hit locally in Lake County. Behavioral Health Services says it will close two peer support centers because of new budget rules tied to Proposition 1. The locations in Clearlake Oaks and Lakeport are expected to shut down June 1. Officials say the changes are reshaping how mental health dollars can be spent across California. Even with the closures, they say they’re working to find new ways to keep those support services going.
