A man is recovering in stable condition following a serious collision between an electric scooter and a vehicle. The Lakeport Police Department reports it happened at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 11th and Forbes Streets. Police say the scooter operator was traveling southbound on North Forbes Street when he reportedly failed to stop at the intersection. He then collided with a vehicle heading west on 11th Street. He was initially taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital but was later transferred to an out-of-county trauma center to treat what officials describe as major injuries. Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
