UC Berkeley will pay one-million dollars to settle a lawsuit from students who said the school didn’t do enough to protect Jewish students.  The 2023 lawsuit claims UC Berkeley allowed antisemitism on campus, especially in its law school.  The lawsuit pointed out rules that banned speakers who support Zionism, the belief that Israel has a right to exist.  As part of the settlement, UC Berkeley will prohibit discrimination and harassment, and continue antisemitism training and education.
